Description of Services
The Service Audit Partnership (SAP) is a mutual auditing scheme, which aims to improve the quality and safety of projects for homeless people via a programme of peer audits. Agencies involved are Broadway, Thames Reach, Eaves Housing for Women, Single Homeless Project, Stopover, Peter Bedford Housing Association and Croydon Action for Young Single Homeless (CAYSH).
The project has three main aims:
A Project Manager is employed and managed by Broadway and supported by a Working Party of senior member agency managers. The Project Manager developed and manages the audit process, trains member agency auditors and disseminates lessons learnt both within the project and to the wider housing sector. The auditors are appointed from volunteers from member agencies and are trained in audit techniques. They then compile a report on their project visit with assistance from the manager. The results of each external audit are presented to the relevant Board highlighting existing good practice and quality standards.
Purpose of Grant
To enable SAP to extend the benefits of the scheme to smaller agencies that are not members. Member agencies are required to provide auditors as part of their contribution to the scheme. This grant allows smaller agencies to be involved by reimbursing the auditing agencies for the staff time and additional costs in conducting and reporting on these additional audits.
