Description of Services
Thames Reach is one of the leading charities working with people who sleep rough in London. Its aim is to end street homelessness through collaborative work with other agencies. It is now one of the largest organisations dedicated to working with street homeless people in London, with projects throughout Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham, Wandsworth, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Camden.
Providing extensive and varied services, Thames Reach aims to support people at all stages on their journey from sleeping on the streets in London to being in a secure tenancy in their own home. The services offered include: outreach work, with workers on the streets of central London on nearly every night of the year; a range of hostels offering an important bridge between the street and accommodation; temporary and permanent supported accommodation wherein residents either live in shared accommodation with their own room, or have their own flats with day-to-day contact with designated key-workers, and support for former rough sleepers who are in permanent housing. As well as this Thames Reach has an active meaningful occupation team who assist in training, education and employment.
Purpose of Grant
After a devastating fire, destroying the offices of our central services and housing teams, the grant enabled Thames Reach to pay for the additional costs of establishing themselves in new offices and coping with the inevitable disruption in service capacity.
