The London Housing is seeking to make a limited number of grants each year to voluntary agencies tackling homelessness in order to strengthen their organisational capacity to have an impact in delivering effective services.
The overall allocation for this grants stream is around £100,000 - £150,000 for 2006/07 and individual grants will usually be in the order of £5,000 - £30,000.
Agencies applying should be charities with a proven track record of tackling single homelessness in London - priority will be given to those agencies that have this as their primary objective.
Funding will considered for:
These grants are intended to be developmental, helping an organisation overcome a particular problem, rise to a new challenge or consolidate its operations in a more sustainable way. Funding will not normally be available for regular, ongoing staff costs or for direct project related costs. However, we will be looking for clear indications that the support will strengthen the organisation in its delivery of quality services to homeless or potentially homeless people.
Applications for funding should be on four sides of A4, although appendices may be attached to provide additional detail. You may, however, find it helpful to first send an outline by email to Don Wood (don.wood@lhf.org.uk). This should set out your proposal on the equivalent of one or two sides of A4.
If you would like discuss the possibility of making an application before submitting an outline please call Don Wood on 020 7733 9340.
