St Giles Trust scooped the £10,000 top prize at this year's Andy Ludlow Homelessness Awards for their Straight to Work programme (S2W).
The award was presented by broadcaster Jon Snow. Presenting with him was special guest Minister for Homelessness, Iain Wright MP.
£5,000 was awarded to each of the three runners up, UR4Jobs, the Single Homelessness project and Brent Homeless User Group and the West London Partnership Mystery Shopping project.
Shortlisted for the award were, DePaul Trust’s Drive Ahead and The Streetwise Community Law Centre which were each commended, receiving £500 each. In all six shortlisted groups were chosen from around 30 entries.
Don Wood, one of the London Housing Foundation's directors, was on the selection panel for the awards. Reflecting on this role and St Giles' success, he said: "It's a pleasure to participate in the judging panel for these awards. There is so much good work out there that needs to be acknowledged. Personally, I am particularly pleased to see St Giles Trust win a second time - their peer support work is excellent and deserves the recognition."
