The LHF board has for some time indicated a strong interest in funding work with homeless people who have regular brushes with the law, spend time in prison and struggle to break the pattern of recidivist behaviour and settle down once released.
There are a number of agencies working on the interface between the criminal justice system and the homelessness sector and we asked them to put forward new and innovative projects to help stop ex-prisoners becoming homeless and ending up on the streets. This fits in with our overall aim of supporting personal transitions to sustainable, independent living.
Three projects are currently running with our support and we welcome more such proposals.
