Announcing the results of the Foundation’s review of its funding strategy in January 2009, chairman Don Wood wrote:
‘The board hopes that its contribution will, alongside that from much larger funds, enable the community of organisations known as London’s homelessness sector to become even more effective in changing the lives of the people they serve.’
The choice of the word ‘community’ is key: the Foundation believes that it is only by bringing organisations together that shared challenges may be tackled – and overcome - and shared opportunities realised.
