Support to help agency mergers continues

Mergers are a popular and effective solution to the many challenges of managing and maintaining homelessness services. The London Housing Foundation is currently providing support to six organisations to facilitate three mergers between homelessness agencies.

Our support includes:
  • Providing funding for consultancy to assist organisations to review their business plans
  • Contributing towards the cost of effective senior executive recruitment
  • Helping agencies to select a suitable merger partner.

Considering merger?

There is a plethora of material available on mergers – so much so that it’s a job in itself to work out where to start!

To help avoid busy executives wasting valuable time, the Foundation commissioned Alan Cripps, of Neadon Consulting, and Mary Carter, to carry out a mergers literature review and we published the resulting report “Merger: A Brief Guide to the Literature for Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations” in December 2006.

Many of the resources highlighted in the report can be accessed from the mergers section of this website.

If you would like the London Housing Foundation to help your organisation to find a merger partner or to assist in the process of merging, please contact us.
