10th June 2010
The closing date for applications for the Andy Ludlow Homelessness Awards, the primary award for agencies tackling homelessness in London, is 5pm on Monday 21 June 2010. Prize money of £51,000 is awarded to the organisations which demonstrate innovative and creative solutions for tackling homelessness in the capital, as well as recognising good practice.
The awards are open to all projects in London working in the field of homelessness, including those from the voluntary sector, housing and social services departments, NHS trusts, registered social landlords, or a partnership of agencies.
The winner of the 2010 awards will receive a prize of £25,000 with £10,000 going to each of the two runners-up and £2,000 going to three other shortlisted projects.
Smaller agencies have been shown to have as good a chance of winning as larger ones. In 2008
Streetwise Opera won £10,000, and Steet League were runners up.
The value of this award is that it marks recipients out for their innovation and good practice. Just what funders want to hear.
